Sunday XI Hit By Hursley Youngsters
With the Hythe youngsters playing in the Woodhouse up the road ~ it was a strong Hythe side Dan Taylor put together for the visit of Hursley Park.
Questions were asked when they first 7 Hursley lads to arrive were youngsters but they then won the toss and elected to bat.
Opening pair of the prolific Tom Flynn 100* & Ollie Spink 104* then took the Hythe bowling apart putting on 174 before Flynn retired in only the 23rd over.
Former Hythe player Kumo Sharma then joined Spink and added 42 before Spink scored his maiden century with the score on 282-2. For Hythe two wicket for Dan Taylor whilst Fletcher went for 63 and Oliver 53.
All eyes on the Hythe batting to perform but local critic Pierre Knights was soon in his element as one by one the Hythe lads were in and out.
Dan Taylor top scored with 30 whilst Steve Rollinson made 28 & Jamie Fletcher 26. Hythe though 173 all out and a heavy defeat. Come back the youngsters.
