Redford Hit By Travellers

Just when you thought Hythe's chances in the Woodhouse for this year was over ~ the H&D youngsters pull off an exciting win over Langley Manor at QE2.

The game did have its incidents as Langley claimed Dan Duell didnt walk when caught behind. But its down to the umpire to decide and nothing will take away what a great win this was.

Sam Redford's stint as 2nd team Captain continues to be a real headache due to unavailability and losing players to the 1s.

This time he took his side to unbeaten Southampton Travellers and were heavily defeated by 106 runs.

The homeside batted first on a difficult wicket but the prolific run machine that is Travs skipper Shav Choudhary made it look easy scoring 56. He was well supported by Jithin Anraham 46*.

Hythe's bowling saw Tom Jones take 4-35 whilst Dan Taylor took 2-25.

So 5 an over would normally be a decent challenge but not for our guys. 90 all out with only the last 3 batsman getting into double figures. Hythe were 35 for 8 & 54 for 9 before Ben Holbrook 16* & Chalky White 23 added 34 for the final wicket.

RESULT :  Southampton Travellers Beat Hythe & Dibden 2nd XI by 106 Runs
