Last Ball Win For Sunday XI
Following last weeks last ball defeat Hythe this time had another cracking game but this time won on the last ball thanks to a defiant innings from Aaron Oliver 49*.
Braishfield batted first and owed their score of 185-8 to a century from Aussie Jack Corbett (his 2nd ton in two seasons against Hythe). He made 102* before retiring.
Dan Duell picked up 3-30 & Aaron Oliver 2-27 for Ben Holbrook's side.
Hythe didnt start too well with the bat losing Ben Jones for just 2.
Ben Holbrook 17 & Martin Duell 44 added 70 for the 2nd wicket. When Holbrook was out in the 20th over Hythe had one of their mini wobbles losing Duell & Lex Vaughan 2 in quick succession.
Dan Duell & Oliver added 55 for the 5th wicket then Pete Miller chipped in with a valuable 16. Final over Hythe required 3 to win and lost Dan Jones 2nd ball for 2. But Oliver 49* and Steve Rollinson saw Hythe home on the final ball. Great game in the gloom.
