H&D Win Season Opener
Hythe won their pre season opener at the scenic setting of Steeple Langford ~ spoilt by a pleasant warm day.
Kev Mc lost the toss but the visitors were asked to bat first. After losing Jonjo early George Sanderson & Tariq Islam settled down to form a 53 run 2nd wicket partnership before Tariq was bowled for 38.
Jamie Meredith didnt last long but Ben Jones 16 & Pete Miller 37 assisted Sanderson to a top score of 47.
After the funeral play resumed and Hythe ended their innings on 177-8 off their 35 overs.
Steeple got off to a steady start before Tom Jones removed both openers. Steeple skipper hit a fine 48 but fell as one of Dan Duell's 4 wickets as the home sides middle order and tail struggled. Steeple all out for 149 ~ Kev McCarthy finished with 2-6.
Hythe win by 28 runs but thanks to Steeple for hosting in a match that was so special to Pete Stevens.
RESULT : Hythe & Dibden Beat Steeple Langford by 28 runs
