Gates Ton Earns 1st XI First Win
An excellent 101 from Tom Gates earned H&D their first win in the SPL Mini League.
Hythe batted first and Gates shared a 46 opening stand with Matt Young 19 then a 38 2nd wkt stand with Zac Millar 10.
The middle order tumbled with 3 wickets in quick succession but Alex Nicholas 31 & Fabio Roberts 30* helped Hythe to 219-8 off their 40 overs.
Langley Manor were soon in trouble thanks to an explosive spell from the trim Tim Ndowora who took 4-24. Only Steve Harris 21 showed any grit as LM were bowled out for just 88.
Andy Wakely took 2-26 & Dan Taylor took 2-9 at the tail.
But the win belonged to Tom Gates 13 x 4s & 4x6s in his 101
